Up to 4 full-time internships are offered in our small, lively office organising one of the largest and most prestigious literature festivals in Britain. This is an opportunity to gain experience in all areas - box office, press, organisation of the events (writers travel and accommodation etc) in a busy atmosphere leading up to the festival, and then be part of the team co-ordinating the festival office, meetingwriters, selling tickets, advising customers etc during the festival itself  (11 - 20 July).  

The pace is hectic and there is a fair amount of routine work - but we do share it between us.  We will welcome your particular interests but we all need to do a bit of everything. Reasonable computer literacy is an advantage (we work on Apple Macs) as is a good phone manner. Interns should be available to work until 21 July, starting 16 May (though start-date is flexible).  

We can offer good all-round experience if you want to go into artsadministration or publishing; a valuable addition to your CV. (Our last intern moved from our office to become a full-time journalist at the Independent on Sunday)
