Running from 9 to 19 July 2010, this prestigious literary event takes place in the stunning medieval estate and gardens of Dartington Hall in South Devon. Over17,000 visitors are excepted to attend the150 events on offer this summer as the festival celebrates its 19th year.
Highlights of the programme will include two of the most distinctive voices in British fiction talking about their latest works, Martin Amis on his 12th novel The Pregnant Widow and Ian McEwan on Solar.
Veteran crime writer PD James is making a rare appearance in her 90th year to be interviewed on stage by friend and fellow author Penelope Lively.

On a lighter note comedian Richard Herring will tell us why at age 40 he is far from grown up and funny man Jeremy Hardy will offer two hours of stand up.
Lady Antonia Fraser will be talking about her 30-year marriage to late husband, playwright Harold Pinter. Melvyn Bragg will be sharing highlights of his time as host of The South Bank Show from its first series featuring Paul McCartney in 1978 to its controversial end earlier year. Twenty years on from his capture in Beirut, ex-hostage Brian Keenan will talk about his life experiences. Margaret Drabble will take us through the literary landscape of Britain. Amanda Foreman will join other historians to discuss what our past can teach us today.
Bestselling novelists Tracey Chevalier, Fay Weldon, Naomi Alderman, Marina Lewycka, Barbara Trapido, Allison Pearson, Rachel Billington and Jane Gardam will also head this year’s fiction writers line-up.
Psychologist Oliver James will propose that parents need a step by step guide on how to love their children, Jane Fearnley-Whittingstall will ask what makes a marriage work and Giles Coren will offer up a lesson in anger management. Added into this mix will be a secular, Sunday service on 'Frugality' from The School of Life group.
Coinciding with the World Cup Final, Ways With Words will also become the most cultured spot in Britain to watch the big match as a screen will be erected in the 14thC Great Hall and writers and footie fans Blake Morrison, John Lanchester and rugby legend Brian Moore will provide live commentary.
