Ways With Words lifeline grant from Government’s £1.57bn Culture Recovery Fund
We are delighted to announce that Ways With Words has been awarded £117,000 as part of the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund (CRF) to help face the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and to ensure we have a sustainable future, the Culture Secretary has announced today.
Ways With Words is one of 1,385 cultural and creative organisations across the country receiving urgently needed support. £257 million of investment has been announced today as part of the very first round of the Culture Recovery Fund grants programme being administered by Arts Council England. Further rounds of funding in the cultural and heritage sector are due to be announced over the coming weeks.
We have had a difficult few months and, having lost two of our annual festivals (Dartingon and Southwold) as well as two very highly valued members of staff, this grant will help enormously to sustain the organisation through the next 6 months. During this time we aim to put on a programme of events in the South Devon area and to prepare for a more sustainable festival in Cumbria in March. We will be making further announcements about our plans for the future in due course. The best way to keep up to date is to sign up to our e-newsletters. You can do this by clicking here.
